The Old Blue Tile Sidewalk Street Names

I don’t know if you remember the old blue tile sidewalk street names. A lot of them got destroyed by time, a few by accidents, and most by the Americans with Disabilities Act, which destroyed them to provide wheelchair access on street corner curbs. Here are photos of 2 that they missed of the original 110 on Lowerline St.. The blue on white are the original type from the late 1800s, when the town of Carrollton was annexed by New Orleans. Many of the original street names were changed then. Lowerline Street was the border between Carrollton and New Orleans. The white on blue were replacements after WWII when repair work was done to sidewalks.
