Easy Refrigerator Pickles

Ingredients:

6 cups thinly sliced cucumbers

2 cups thinly slice onions

1 & 1/2 cup sugar

1 & 1/2 cup vinegar

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp mustard seed

1/2 tsp celery seed

1/2 tsp ground turmeric

Instructions:

In a large glass jar layer cucumbers and onions. In a medium saucepan combine sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard seed. Celery seed and turmeric. Bring to boiling stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour vinegar mixture over cucumber and onions and cool slightly. Cover tightly, refrigerate at least 24 hours before serving. Store up to 1 month in refrigerator.

Given to Alice Ann (Poirrier) Broussard by a Memphis neighbor Shirley O'Connell. One year she had lots of cucumbers so Shirley even sent cucumbers with recipe. VERY GOOD!!
